Freight Delivery - Information
When will my shipment be delivered?
In general most shipments are delivered Monday - Friday
between 9:00AM - 6:00PM. However, most deliveries do tend to be in the
morning and pickup in the afternoon.
For LTL and air freight shipments, delivery times run 3
- 10 working days depending on the distance and the actual service
areas. Near by states closer to 2 - 5 days & across the country 5 - 10
days
These estimates are just that, estimates and shipments
are not guaranteed unless that service has been booked.
How do I find out when?
Using the BOL (bill of lading number) for your shipment,
you may go to the your actual carrier's website and check the
tracking or delivery time for your shipment.
If the shipment has been delivered to the local
terminal, you will want to call the local terminal and ensure you will
be home at the date and time they will be delivering. Freight can not be
delivered without some authorized to accept it available for signing the
delivery document.
Are transit times guaranteed?
Transit times are guaranteed only if noted as such on the carrier
options list returned for your quote. All other transit times are
reliable, but not guaranteed. Transit times do not include the day of
pickup.
Depending on where your cargo is departing from and
being delivered to, it usually takes between 3 and 7 business days.
Some variables that effect delivery time include traffic congestion and
inclined weather conditions.
Also, if the shipper or consignee cannot be contacted by the freight
companies’ terminal, pick-up and delivery times can be delayed. It is
important to provide accurate contact information for both the departure
and delivery points to help ensure a timely delivery.
What are my responsibilities?
The consignee (party receiving
the shipment) must provide access for the truck and a means to off load
the truck. This may be a dock, a fork lift, an elevator or "old fashion
mussel" (people).
Ensure that the services and weights you are
signing for are correct.
