Have two (2)
copies of the
BOL (bill of
lading) at the point of pick up.
All parties involved should have a copy of the Bill of Lading (buyer,
seller and carrier). It is imperative that the BOL be given to the truck
driver when he makes the pickup. Have two copies on hand one to give the
driver and eep one copy for your records.
When will my shipment be picked up?
Our Customer Services department and your freight Specialist will take
care of setting up your shipment. You do not need to do anything.
Your shipment should be picked up the same day that you requested. This
is typically Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM - 6:00PM. In general,
the carriers pick up in the PM and ck up in the PM. If you are expecting
a pick up, we recommend calling the terminal sometime after 11:00 AM and
asking for dispatch. Tell them you have a shipment that is "3rd party
prepaid" at "Your Address" and you were wondering when the truck would
be out.
Can I
schedule a shipment and have it picked up on the same day?
Yes, but this service cannot be guaranteed due to our carriers'
capacity. Please allow a 4-hour window before your docks close so
American Freight Companies can get a driver dispatched out to your
location within that same day. Please note that carriers normally make
pickups in the afternoon and deliver in the morning.
What
happens if my shipment isn't ready when the driver comes?
Most commonly, the driver will not wait. The driver will be dispatched
for the following day, which delays your service. You will be assessed a
fee if the carrier charges American Freight Companies for the duplicated
pickup.
Canceling a shipment:
After you have reviewed your paperwork and after you
have returned you paperwork, we review it, approve it and lock in your
rate. At this point we experience none reversible expenses and
obligations. For this reason there is a reprocessing and cancellation
fee that is 20% of the shipping charge.
Optionally, If you decide you want to change types of
service such as converting an LTL shipment to a truck load service or
LTL to a blanket wrap service, we will apply 100% credit to the upgraded
service.
