FreightCenter Toys for Tots annual toy drive collection

St. Petersburg Times - Pasco County Business Digest - December 11, 2010

LOCAL BUSINESS MAKES CONTRIBUTIONS AND SPREADS HOLIDAY CHEER IN PASCO

FreightCenter.com, a local third-party freight solutions company, gears up for its annual toy drive immediately after finishing an outstanding food drive for the surrounding community.

Trinity, FL – In partnership with the West Pasco Toys for Tots Foundation and local community, FreightCenter.com hopes to make a great impact this holiday season by encouraging individuals and businesses to donate a new, unwrapped toy or bicycle over the next two weeks.

This year, an estimated 5,700 families will seek assistance and support from the Foundation. FreightCenter.com wants to make sure each neighborhood child feels the spirit of the holidays and is encouraging everyone to come together and bring in a new toy to those in need. It is even offering any customer that brings in a donation from now until December 17th a coupon for $50 off a future shipment with the company.

"We're extremely committed to drives and events that support our local community and are confident that all local businesses and customers share our common purpose of helping those in need," said Matt Brosious, Founder and CEO of FreightCenter.com. By combining employee and community efforts, FreightCenter.com hopes to collect hundreds of unwrapped toys and bikes for local children.

No stranger to charitable organizations, FreightCenter.com employees always team together to maintain an active role in the community. The company just wrapped up a tremendously successful food drive to benefit the Suncoast Harvest Food Bank. In just three short weeks, the company raised almost 600 pounds of food for its Thanksgiving food drive, tripling its original goal.

"We heavily rely on food drives throughout the community to bridge the gap between decreased corporate donations and increasing community need," said Liz Fields of Suncoast Harvest Food Bank in Land O' Lakes, which collects food and hygiene items and distributes them to 20,000+ families in Pasco, Citrus, Hernando and Sumter counties.

To help support a great local cause, please stop by FreightCenter corporate headquarters located at 2049 Welbilt Blvd in Trinity anytime between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday, or call 800-716-7608 for special arrangements.
