FreightCenter.com Spreads Holiday Cheer with Workplace Volunteer Program
FreightCenter.com spreads holiday cheer with a new workplace volunteer program that encourages employees to donate their time to local charitable organizations.
Trinity, FL – FreightCenter.com spreads holiday cheer throughout Pasco County with its new workplace volunteer program, “Cash for Caring.” FreightCenter.com employees served a total of 50 hours in the program, which supports local charities that service families and pets in need.
"Cash for Caring" is a corporate-funded program that encourages staff members to give back to the community during the month of December. The program is in its first year, but already the success has influenced the executive team to consider extending the program year round.
"By extending the program, our employees have the potential to give back more than 600 hours to the community," says Matthew Brosious, CEO.
So far this month, employee participation is at 20-percent of FreightCenter.com’s 80 workers.
Toys for Tots West Pasco, Feeding America Tampa Bay, SPCA Suncoast and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital were just some of the charities positively impacted by the "Cash for Caring" program and FreightCenter.com’s seasonal toy and food drives.
For Toys for Tots West Pasco, FreightCenter.com donated $2,000 toward the shirts worn by 1,000 student and community volunteers. In addition to the monetary donation from its corporate office, FreightCenter.com employees and customers collected roughly $1,800 worth of toys for needy children. The total donation put a dent in the 13,000 toys and bikes collected for nearly 2,000 children in West Pasco County alone.
The company contributed to other charities by collecting 200 pounds of dry and canned goods for Feeding America Tampa Bay, as well as, volunteering manpower to help support the SPCA Suncoast and St. Jude.
FreightCenter.com is looking to help more non-profit organizations in the new year. Interested organizations should contact FreightCenter.com’s Marketing Coordinator Terese Kerrigan at 727-450-7835.
