FreightCenter.com, a provider of freight transportation technology and third-party logistics services, arranged
cross-country transport of a salvaged I-Beam from Ground Zero that is to be commemorated on the 10th
anniversary of 9/11.
Port Angeles, Wash. – September 11, 2011 – FreightCenter.com arranged shipping of a Twin Towers I-Beam that
is to be dedicated on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. In July, a recovered 1,450-pound nine-foot beam from Ground
Zero was transported from JFK International Airport to Seattle on behalf of the Clallam County Public Safety
Tribute Committee.
“We facilitate the shipping of important items every day, but never before have we had the opportunity to arrange
transport for such a unique piece of American history,” says Matt Brosious, CEO of FreightCenter.com.
Alan Barnard, chairman of the Public Safety Tribute Committee, and Capt. Duke Moroz of the Port Angeles Fire
Department toured the beam throughout Clallam County before the 9/11 artifact became the centerpiece of a new
memorial erected to honor local public-safety workers.
A public ceremony will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, September 11 at Francis Street Park. The
dedication will feature a helicopter flyover and presentations by several members of the community. All Public
Safety personnel, local, state and federal officials and the general public are invited to attend.

About Clallam County Public Safety Tribute Committee
Founded and chaired by Alan Barnard, the Public Safety Tribute Committee helped erect two 9/11 monuments
in Port Angeles. Members, Sam Allen and Andrew Moravec, originated the project and sought approval from the
9/11 Commission, which sanctioned Port Angeles to receive the I-Beam. The committee secured sponsorship for
funding of the beam’s construction and design from the Port Angeles Fire Department Auxiliary. The committee,
in conjunction with the City of Port Angeles, will maintain the monument through the generosity of citizens and
donors.
