FreightCenter’s recession-proof business model continues to drive trends in transportation, making 2011 a record year for corporate development.
FreightCenter closes the calendar year at more than 50-percent growth in annual gross revenues. In July, FreightCenter announced a 73-percent increase since 2010. Each year since 2007, the company has expanded by more than double its size and continues to win awards for innovation.
“By anticipating the needs of our customer base, we are able to adopt new development strategies that have pushed our gross revenues beyond 50 percent this year,” says Doug Walls, chief information officer. “Our practice of fulfilling the needs of niche markets has proven to be both reliable and valuable to our business model.”
With a mission to simplify the way customers quote and book freight online, FreightCenter has created multiple platforms that give shippers the ability to leverage its carrier contracts, proprietary technology and customer support. The website, which has recently won the Web Marketing Association’s WebAwards for “Best Transportation Website,” accommodates open-source API integration and other eCommerce web services, like its eBay® shipping calculator, and can be licensed as a SaaS-based transportation management system (TMS).
Completing its suite of online freight products, FreightCenter is in development of a mobile app that allows users to quote and book freight from any iPhone®, iPad® or Android® mobile device. The mobile app is due to be released to the App Store® and Android Market® in early 2012.
“Our customers are increasingly looking for ways to cut costs, optimize production, without having to undergo a costly system overall,” says Walls.
Investment in technology has positioned FreightCenter as a leading online provider of freight technology. FreightCenter powers a suite of products, including a TMS, that aims to solve revenue and logistics issues for busy supply chains.
FreightCenter’s TMS product is white-label software that requires no conversions or hosting, and functions seamlessly alongside existing software. Offering flexibility and scalability like no other TMS currently on the market, the FreightCenter TMS includes fully-customizable front and back-end interfaces that control rating, scheduling, tracking, reporting, billing and much more. With a TMS contract, users instantly gain access to all the functionality of FreightCenter’s top performing transportation website.
In addition to the best website award, FreightCenter has recently been named a “Best Companies To Work For” by Florida Trend and recipient of an Inc. 5000 fastest growing business award.
Founded by the Web Marketing Association in 1997, the WebAwards is the standards-defining competition that sets industry benchmarks for the best web sites based on the seven criteria of a successful website. The goal of the WebAwards is to provide a forum to recognize the people and organizations responsible for developing some of the most effective websites on the Internet today. Beyond validation, entrants benefit from a website assessment by a professional judging panel, which provides specific feedback on how each site ranks against standards of excellence.
