April 30, 2012 – FreightCenter, a third-party logistics company, today announced YRC Freight as its National Carrier of the Year for 2011. Each year, FreightCenter has recognized a transportation supplier that has demonstrated a mutual commitment to excellence in nationwide LTL freight transportation.
YRC Freight, a subsidiary of YRC Worldwide Inc., was selected based on reputable standards of quality, dedication to serving shippers and feedback from customers surveyed post delivery. YRC Freight received the inaugural award for 2010 Carrier of the Year, which makes it the only national carrier to have received this award from FreightCenter.
"We proudly recognize YRC Freight for its integrity and commitment to shippers," said Matthew Brosious, CEO and co-founder of FreightCenter. "We rely on YRC Freight to deliver best-in-class service to our customers."
Known in the industry as a leading transporter of less-than-truckload (LTL) freight throughout North America, YRC Freight specializes in advanced shipping solutions for commercial supply chains. More than 60 percent of all FreightCenter accounts require expert business-to-business logistics, making YRC Freight the top supplier of nationwide LTL freight transportation.
"Based on a high volume of quotes and shipments, it is evident that YRC Freight is our carrier of choice for a second consecutive year. YRC Freight is notorious for on-time pickup and delivery, as well as a reputation for safe freight handling," said Doug Walls, chief information officer for FreightCenter. "We encourage our customers and account managers to find the best value on shipping, and YRC Freight is often a top choice for an unsurpassed combination of price and service."
FreightCenter has been consecutively named to the Inc. 5000 List for fastest-growing private companies, and is a Florida company to watch for its economic growth and development. For more than 14 years, FreightCenter has worked in partnership with asset-based carriers to ship more than a million shipments throughout the United States, Canada and beyond.
FreightCenter's Carrier of the Year award honorees are chosen annually from among more than 40 of its partner carriers. The top national carrier is selected through an analysis of quantitative and qualitative factors such as the total number of completed shipments, number of processed quotes, percentage of claims-free shipments and overall customer and agent feedback. A ‘best value' service is defined by the greatest combination of price, equipment, transit time, class and service.
