Yellow Freight

The "Y" in YRC Freight. Yellow Freight is a subsidiary of YRC Worldwide and YRC Freight, Inc. The company has been honored as a top national freight carrier many years in a row. It is a top choice for nationwide trucking services. The company was founded in 1929 as Yellow Transit Freight Lines. It was mainly a small company until 1952 when it was purchased by an ownership group. Under the new owners, it changed its name to Yellow Corporation. They proceeded to pioneer the process of consolidating small freight shipments. These consolidated shipments were placed into trailer loads. Over the years the named changed slightly a few more times. When they acquired Roadway Corp in 2003, they formed Yellow Roadway Corporation. Several years of hardships and restructuring took place. YRC Freight was formed in 2012. Today YRC has over 250 service centers in operation. They currently service all of North America.
