How Do You Arrange for Parcel Shipping Through Freightcenter?
As a one-stop shipping solution, FreightCenter offers FTL (full truckload), LTL (less-than-truckload) and Parcel shipping. To get a quote on shipping electronics as a parcel, request a quote online or call our team of parcel experts at 800.716.7608.
How Do You Prepare an Electronics Load for Ltl Freight Shipping?
You save money with LTL (less-than-truckload) shipping because your shipment shares the truck with loads from other shippers. It’s important that your cargo be packaged so it will not be damaged in transit and will not present a danger to other shipments on the truck.
Package large quantites of small electronics items in crates or bulk boxes. Bulk boxes are designed to fit on pallets. The walls of the boxes can be double or even triple wall thick often made of corrugated cardboard. Bulk boxes have removable tops and are best used for the smaller parts traveling with the shipment.
Larger electronics items should be packaged securely in crates for the highest level of protection. If using a crate is impractical or too expensive, protect the item with paper, foam and/or bubble packaging and box it in cardboard. Shrink wrap the box and strap it to a pallet. Make sure the package does not extend beyond the edges of the box at any point.
What Is the Nmfc (Freight Class) for Shipping Electronics?
The freight class for shipping electronics varies depending on the items being shipped. You’ll find the freight class of some electronics items on our Freight Class Lookup table. If you don’t know the freight class of the item(s) you’re shipping, our in-house LTL shipping experts can determine it for you.
